Blue Jays Wave

Blue Jays Wave

It’s the home opener for our very own Toronto Blue Jays. We’re 5 -1 and that means we’re first place in the East. Life is tough when you’re sharing a division with teams like the Yankees and the Red Sox. But, its spring and hope springs eternal in baseball every year. At least it’s not like the Jays first game on April 7, 1977 – which took place in a minor snowstorm at the old Exhibition Stadium (coincidently against the Chicago White Sox).

Our memory sweeps back to the crazy euphoria of 1992 and 1993 when we were on top of the world as MLB world champions. Those were my first two years in Toronto and I thought it would always be like that. Toronto is a great major league sports town. We love our Blue Jays. We love our Toronto FC. We love our Maple Leafs (and yes, its a dysfunctional kind of love).

At Madtini Research Labs we’re dressed up in our Blue Jays blue and black (with a touch of red) and our home opener drink follows suit. We present the Blue Jays Wave… with a dash of maple syrup and a splash of red.
