Thanksgiving Leftovers: the Wild Turkey 101

Wild Turkey 101I’m not naming names or pointing fingers here at Madtini Labs today, but I’m pretty sure someone had replaced all of my jeans with exact duplicate pants that are 1-2 sizes smaller. While that investigation goes on and another turkey sandwich is consumed, we’re going to do something about the Wild Turkey leftovers.

We’re going to keep it simple, bourbon on the rocks, but fancy it up a bit with a couple of fresh cranberries skewered onto a rosemary sprig.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 oz Wild Turkey Bourbon
  • Rosemary Sprig
  • Cranberries

Preparation
Skewer several fresh cranberries onto a sprig of rosemary. Pour Wild Turkey Bourbon over ice in a rocks glass.

Madtini Thanksgiving – The Turkey Trot

Turkey Trot CocktailThe question of the day is, ‘Do Turkeys Trot?’ The only thing I’ve ever see turkeys do is wander around aimlessly, completely oblivious to their ultimate fate. Just to clarify what a Turkey Trot really is, it was one of the most popular ragtime music dances of 1900-1910. Although maybe after a few of these you may be looking at getting your trot-on.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Wild Turkey Bourbon
  • 2 oz 7-Up or Sprite
  • 2 oz Cranberry Juice
  • fresh cranberries

Preparation
Combine the bourbon, sprite and cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker. Stir, then strain into the cocktail glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a skewer of fresh cranberries.

Madtini Thanksgiving – The Burnt Turkey

Burnt TurkeyThis might be the only time you’ll want to invite your guests to imbibe in Burnt Turkey on Thanksgiving.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Wild Turkey Bourbon
  • 2 oz Goldschälger Cinnamon Schnapps
  • 8-10 fresh mint leaves

Preparation
Fill a chilled glass with crushed ice and 8-10 fresh mint leaves. Combine the bourbon and cinnamon schnapps in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake, then strain over ice.
