Wowzers, i think i’ve only started to recover from seeing Duck seduce Peggy last week – it took me three days to be able to eat solid foods again. Last week’s episode of MadMen was full of folks making bad decisions.
Don picks up hitchhikers (uh oh), drinks while driving (don’t do it ever), takes a barbituate (oh wait, why not have two) and then joins a couple of teenagers in their hotel room (dumb, dumb, dumb). He’s almost asking to be knocked out and then robbed… and then he does.
Peggy goes to return the scarf gift to Duck in his room (shudder), then next thing she knows, Duck is offering to remove her clothes with his teeth (double shudder). Then next thing you know, Bob’s your uncle and Duck and Peggy are doing the ol’ familiar horizontal mambo. I think it was at that moment that I lost consciousness and missed the next 5 minutes.
Anyways, onwards and upwards – we’re heading into Week #8 of Mad Men – and we decided to try a fresh fruity drink. Mind you its still full of gin. Our cocktail this week is the ‘Broker’s Promise’ – featuring delicious Broker’s Premium Dry Gin, straight out of the 200 year-old distillery in Birmingham, England.
See the recipe below… and strawberries are never a bad decision.
Broker’s Promise
1 oz Broker’s Premium Dry Gin
2 oz Cranberry Juice
2 oz Lemon-Lime Soda
Frozen sliced Strawberries
Fill a glass with ice, pour in 1 oz of gin, add the 2 oz cranberry juice. Then pour in 2 oz of lemon-lime soda (I chose 7-up) – then garnish with frozen sliced strawberries.
Cheers to a great week and better decisions!
