The Balsamic Strawberry Cocktail
Vinegar in a cocktail? Well, even I was surprised how delicious this drink turned out to be. The balsamic vinegar adds a sophisticated taste the balances the sweetness of the strawberries and the sour of the lemon juice. [Read more…]

The Strawberry Flirt
The Strawberry Flirt features the best of romantic Italy – the taste of sparkling Prosecco from Villa Sandi along with the taste of wild strawberry from Fragoli. Combine that with some fresh sliced strawberries and you have a night of romance ahead of you, the only missing is the chocolate.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Smirnoff Vodka
- 1 oz Fragoli Wild Strawberry liqueur
- 3 oz Prosecco (we used Villa Sandi)
Preparation
Chill two champagne flutes. Combine the vodka and wild strawberry liqueur in a cocktail shaker with 3 ice cubes. Shake for 6-7 seconds and then add to the chilled flute glasses. Add Prosecco and garnish with several fresh sliced strawberries. Serve, savour and enjoy.
The Strawberry Gin Prosecco Cocktail
A followup to our Dark & Frowny blackberry-basil Prosecco cocktail from yesterday, but this time with strawberries. The Madtini Intoxicologists are dying to try this with Kiwi soon, so stand by soon for a mix of New Zealand and Italy.
Ingredients:
- 3 fresh sliced and hulled strawberries
- 3 large shredded basil leaves
- 1 oz Hendrick’s Gin
- 1 oz Sweet & Sour Syrup
- 2-3 oz Prosecco
Preparation:
Muddle the strawberries and shredded basil leaves in the bottom of a rocks glass, add Gin & sweet and sour syrup and stir. Fill 3/4 of the glass with crushed ice, and top off with the Prosecco.
Blended Awesomeness… the Disaronno Deuce
The first thing you notice about Amaretto is that it smells like almonds, but there are no almonds or nuts in it at all. Disaronno Amaretto’s distinctive taste comes from apricot kernel oil along with absolute alcohol (Ethyl alcohol containing no more than one percent water), burnt sugar and the pure essence of seventeen selected herbs and fruit.
It all adds up to pure awesomeness… we added fresh strawberries, Grenadine syrup and cream… oh, and topped it off with whipped cream and more sliced strawberries.
Cheers, and happy summer weekending from the gang at Madtini.
