I’m not exactly sure what a Mapito is, if you do please tell me. I did a quick search and seem to keep coming back to a mapito being some kind of bush tent.
I was looking for a way to use up extra cucumbers, and found this recipe on WonderHowTo.com from the bartenders from the Oyster Bar in Nelson, New Zealand. They’ve created a great video to take you through their methods of preparation.
Recipe
- 3 oz of vodka
- tsp of simple syrup
- splash of club soda
- lime wedges
- cucumber slices
- fresh mint leaves
Preparation
Wrap a handful of ice cubes up in a tea towel with several torn pieces of mint leaves. Fold the tea towel over and beat the living daylights out of the ice with anything handy. Once the ice is crushed, your arm is tired or the neighbors are complaining drain the ice into a highball glass.
Add 3 wedges of lime, tsp oz of simple syrup and 3 cucumber slices to the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Muddle the content until it is thoroughly mashed up. Add ice cubes and 3 oz of vodka. Secure top and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds. Strain into the glass of ice and top with more torn mint and a splash of club soda. Garnish with 2 cucumber spears.
